About Us

Troop 2 serving Bridgeville – South Fayette and the surrounding area of Pennsylvania and was founded in 1982 by the late Norm Miller in partnership with the Bridgeville Women’s Club.  After a few years under the watchful eye of the Women’s Club, Troop 2 outgrew their facility and was taken over by the Bridgeville Rotary Club, now the Bridgeville – South Fayette Rotary Club.  Bethany Presbyterian Church has graciously allowed Troop 2 to meet at their facility ever since.  We are a Scouting America, Scouts BSA Troop, happy for others to join us as we live the Scout Law.

Troop 2 has many traditions passed down for the last 40 years.  We are known for our red berets, teal neckerchief, and attention to detail.  Each year we have a number of Scouts hike 70 miles to Summer Camp.  Not only do we hike to camp, but we also bike back home from camp.  Our troop is proudly Scout lead, with meetings created, selected, and scheduled by youth during our planning campout.  This ensures that Troop 2 Scouts learn to plan and execute events.

During the school year, we meet most Wednesday’s at Bethany Presbyterian Church.  During the summer months we meet outdoors at a local park.  Troop 2 meetings begin at 7:00PM Eastern.
